About Schooner Cove

Schooner Cove took shape in the late 1980s, when a group of insightful individuals saw the possibilities in a riverside independent retirement community on the Miles campus. Combining the graciousness of a luxury retirement facility with the convenience of an affiliation with Miles, the idea quickly blossomed into reality. In August 1988, the first residents moved into Schooner Cove – the first independent retirement community with a hospital affiliation in Maine. More than 25 years later, Schooner Cove remains the finest retirement community in Maine, especially for those with a lot of living yet to do.
